At Flagstone Pantry, we focus on wholesome, natural, seasonal foods – ingredients our grandparents would recognize. We shop, cook and eat mindfully. We avoid genetically modified and chemically fertilized crops, as well as meat and dairy from animals treated with hormones and without access to their natural environments. Whenever possible, we steer clear of additives, preservatives, artificial colors and flavorings and ingredients we can’t pronounce. We’re not nutritionists, but we read lots of books, articles and blogs about food so we can bring you the best that Santa Barbara has to offer. We firmly believe that if we eat mindfully 80% of the time we leave room for life’s small indulgences. After all, it’s hard to imagine life without a cookie here or a brownie there. Butter and sugar are not dirty words. In fact, used sparingly, they bring us great joy and are often necessary to achieve the best results, especially when baking. Simply put, we’re cooks. Cooking, like life, is a balancing act. In life, we juggle work, family, friends, fun and exercise to reach our fullest potential. As cooks, we juggle seasonal produce, sustainable sourcing, supporting local merchants and growers to prepare food that is healthy, delicious, and occasionally indulgent.
